Writing Opportunities Abound

Some of my readers have been asking, ”What’s up?  The frequency of your blog posts has dropped!

True enough.

Since I started this blog three and a half years ago, TheBuddyBlog.com has averaged 4-5 posts per month.  Since April, it has been only 2-3 per month.  Have I suddenly grown speechless?  Have I lost my inspiration?  Has my keyboard broken down?

Nope. Nope. Nope.

I am still pecking away at the keyboard, but I have expanded my audience to include an additional venue.  As some of you know, I was invited to start posting articles at the Catholic Match blog site earlier this year.  Catholic Match, as the name suggests, is an internet dating service aimed at Catholics.  Patrice and I met on CM in 2016.  When CM issued a call for writers, I submitted a few of my blog posts as examples of my writing.  They liked my style and invited me to submit pieces about dating and marriage oriented toward senior citizens.  Apparently, us old fogies are a target market.

So far, I have had six articles published.  You can check them out at:

https://plus.catholicmatch.com/articles/author/bmcelhannon

The articles are generic and would be appropriate for any Christian website.  My not-so-subtle point is, you don’t have to be Catholic to benefit from them.

My first six articles on CM are titled:

  • A Widower’s Dating Dilemma
  • The Truth About Sex as a Senior
  • Why Pronouns Matter in Marriage
  • Can You Fall in Love at Sixty-Five?
  • Don’t Underestimate the Power of a Message
  • Dating as a Widower:  What I Learned After a year on CatholicMatch

I invite you to check them out. Feel free to email me your feedback at buddymac@bellsouth.net.

And for those die-hard TheBuddyBlog.com fans, fear not, I will still be posting on TheBuddyBlog.com, just maybe not as frequently as before.

Besides, like Flannery O’Connor once said, “I write to discover what I know.”

Thanks for joining me on this literary journey and for your encouragement and support.
